Australian Virtual Console Releases : July 27th 2007
Australian Virtual Console releases this week are dominated by TurboGrafx-16 games .. after six months of no TG-16 for Australia, Nintendo are now laying them on thick and fast.
Releases are:
Battle Lode Runner (TG-16), a multiplayer version of the fun and tricky Lode Runner series (a platform/puzzler).
Shockman (TG-16), a side-scrolling shooter ala-Contra/Megaman which features two-player mode with shared life force (a sure way to start arguement between me and the significant-other . . . “Stop getting hit … you are killing me !!”). Nice looking graphics.
Bonk’s Revenge (TG-16), because you can never have enough platformers (… not!).
Kirby’s Ghost Trap (SNES) (Kirby’s Avalanche in NTSC regions), a falling block puzzler and clone of Puyo Puyo (like Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, which has been avaliable on Virtual Console since the very beginning). Both look extermely similar to each other, right down to using the same sprites. I probably won’t buy this since I already have Dr Robotniks MBM, but I really enjoy the two-player mode of that game. Any comments on which is the definitive version would be appreciated
