Australian Virtual Console releases : August 10th, 2007
I’m going to be brief this week, since I think the videos tell the tale.
Breath of Fire II (SNES) looks like a solid RPG by all accounts. Lots of characters and a rich gameworld.
Volleyball (NES) is based on a real life sport involving a ball, a net and two teams either side of it. You may have heard of it.
A bunch of TurboGrafx-16 games were briefly released after the Wii firmware update this week, then quickly pulled down again an re-released on “Virtual Console Friday”.
Air “Zonk” (TG-16) is a side scrolling shooter, a spin-off from the “Bonk” franchise.
Bloody Wolf (TG-16) … you are a sweaty, muscley, manly, one man army.
China Warrior (TG-16) a scrolling beat-em up which looks like a closeup version of the early Kung Fu Master or Karateka type games. Your character looks a lot like Bruce Lee. Reviews suggest it is a terrible game, and the video certainly supports this.
Dragon Spirit (TG-16), a vertical scrolling shooter. Replace the usual plane or a spacecraft with a dragon, and you pretty much know what to expect.
Devil’s Crush (TG-16) is a decent looking pinball game, if you like pinball games.
