This week the Australian Virtual Console store saw the release of Blue’s Journey for NeoGeo (the first non-fight game for NeoGeo on Virtual Console ??), Power Golf for the Turbografx-16 and the highly anticipated re-release of Super Mario Bros. 3 from the NES.

Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - a game which I’m sure needs no introduction. The Tanooki-suit finally arrives on Virtual Console.

Blue’s Journey (NeoGeo) is a pretty sidescrolling platformer (+beat’em’up/shooter). Unlike the Super Mario Bros. style platformer, Blue’s Journey has a clear emphasis on attacking enemies over platform jumping dexterity.

Power Golf (Turbografx-16) - traditional video game golf generally sucks, and I’m sure this is no exception. Unless you are a former Turbografx-16 looking for some nostalgia, stick with Wii Sports or fork out just a little more for Pangya Golf With Style! (Super Swing Golf in some regions).
