Frwee Wii Blog

About

The Frwee Wii Blog is a source of news, views, reviews and random stuff related to the Nintendo Wii, aimed at the “casual hardcore gamer” (or is it the “hardcore casual gamer” ?).

Currently, the Frwee Wii Blog is a one man show run by me, Andrew Perry. The Wii was the first Nintendo console I owned. I like it a lot. It’s fun, engrossing, but also has a bunch of pick-up-and-play games that are easy to put down. That’s important when you have a real day job.

I’m a huge fan of ‘retro’ games, like many of those offered on the Virtual Console download service. I’m firmly of the belief that graphics are only a vehicle for fun gameplay, and believe that playability is what makes a game a game. In this respect, Nintendo “gets it”.

Oh, one more thing. If the name “Frwee” sounds stupid to you, that’s because it does sound stupid. It’s based phonetically on “Wii”, so blame the Nintendo marketing department for that one. However, “Frwee”, apart from sounding silly, is also the name of a super-secret project that, when I get time, I may launch some day (man I hate it when people say that … it usually set’s off my vaporware alarms immediately). At this rate, the “Frwee” project it will probably be released around the time when Nintendo launches their next console, after the Wii, and just before Duke Nukem Forever II launches :)
